- Put an even layer of silicone on one part (usually the removable, as it's easier to operate on it), about 1 millimeter thick (depends on the size and the flatness of the part, should be more for the oil pan). - Dont put silicone on the edge, stop before. - Put a very thin layer on the other part. - Presse both parts together and screw them slightly (very low torque) but evenly. - Wait about 1 hour until the silicone has started to harden and torque to specs.Sometimes I had to disassemble the parts for some reasons and could confirm that the sealing was perfect : neither too much not to little silicone, the sealant thickness not being too thin.
